What is & causes - Psoriasis
Psoriasis is more than just a skin condition. Psoriasis is a chronic, recurrent skin disorder that affects 2-5% of the world's population. Psoriasis can manifest in many forms and it can appear at any age. Approximately 1 million Canadians and 80 million people worldwide have psoriasis.
The most common form, plaque psoriasis, begins with little red bumps that gradually grow larger to form scales. The scales on the surface of the skin flake off easily and often, whereas scales below the surface stick together and commonly form lesions that are tender and likely to bleed. The duration of active psoriasis flares can range from weeks to months to years depending on severity and treatment plan.
Psoriasis can affect the elbows, knees, groin and genitals, arms, legs, palms and soles, scalp and face, body folds and nails. It will often appear in the same place on both sides of the body.
The cause of psoriasis is not known; however, recent discoveries point to an abnormality in the functioning of certain white blood cells that trigger inflammation in the skin. Because of the inflammation, the skin grows and sheds too rapidly, every three to four days.
Psoriasis causes as much disability as cancer, diabetes and other major medical diseases. Up to 30% of patients with psoriasis may have symptoms of arthritis and 5-10% may have some functional disability from arthritis of various joints. Sadly, many psoriasis patients experience low self-esteem, depression, stress, anxiety and feelings of helplessness.

Psoriaderm Daily Emulsion: a superb face and body moisturizer for dry and damaged skin. This product, is formulated to control the condition when used as directed.
Psoriaderm Treatment Shampoo: An amazing shampoo that will quickly control scalp psoriasis, eczema and dry, itchy, flaky scalp, usually after the first shampoo, when used as directed. Leaves your hair clean and manageable with a healthy sheen and no annoying chemical smell. This shampoo will not interfere with processed or tinted hair. It is also an incredibly effective dandruff shampoo.
Treatment Protocol:
Please Note: clinical trials have demonstrated that soaps, moisturizers, day creams ect. Containing A.H.A's, Glycolic Acid, retinols, cellex-c, ect. Seriously denigrates the beneficial results obtained from the use of Psoriaderm Products.
Holistica has developed products which work in conjuction with psoriaderm treatment cream to help produce the desired results.
1. wash area to be treated with Psoriaderm Cleansing wash.
2. apply psoriaderm treatment cream balm to affected areas and gently massage until absorbed.
3. apply psoriaderm treatment cream balm as often as required until visable improvement in condition is observed.
4. when visable improvement is achived then use Psoriaderm treatment cream balm before retiring and in the morning, during the day use Psoriaderm Daily Emulsion.
Prosiaderm treatment shampoo has demonstrated excellent relief for the dry, itchy, flaking condition of the scalp, especially effective on dandruff.
Psoriaderm has demonstrated an 87 plus percent effectiveness result on itchy conditions and visible improvement is usually achieved within hours to 2 days.
